Have a question about the sweeper voice of WLRS heard around 1984-86. Is the voice Scott Shannon (of Z-100 fame)?
Also, anyone know the name of the production library that was used on the sweepers and promos? I'd love to buy it if the company that produced it is still around.
Thanks, Robyn

That was J.R. Nelson, who was WHTZ (Z100) in New York's first imaging voice. He also was part of the first Z Morning Zoo at Z100.
I did a quick Google search trying to find out if he's still in the voiceover/production business, but didn't turn up anything -- at least on the first page of results. :-)

Thanks John. I believe JR Nelson is now retired to somewhere in Michigan. It's a shame as both he and the late Len "Boom" Goldberg (from WMMS/Cleveland) were the voices of Z-100 in it's early years.
