No, I can't afford a legal radio license from the frickin' FCC. BUT, thanks to the very kind of people at CBS, and their wonderful radio players, last.fm and play.it, I've done the unthinkable - created my own "pirate radio" station! The station's "call letters" are WOOT, but it's also known as "Radio Free Louisville" (a take on "Radio Free Santa Cruz"), or "The Snake" (a parody of "The Fox"). The station will play hits from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Have a listen to it here: player.play.it/player/playitplayer.html?pid=PLAYIT&mix=1&log=1&id=38358

I like it! I like it! Of course anything is better than Louisville radio. I do like 103.5 WAKY but don't consider them Louisville really. Your station is playing some great music that gets ignored as it is outside the "safe 300" that are run in the ground. Good job.

How could I start a station like it? I'm wanting to do something similar. Watning to do something localized for my area in Northern Kentucky.
