From the Courier-Journal Obits on March 17, 2012:
CASTEEL, CHARLES A. (CHUCK), 70, passed into the arms of his God March 13, 2012 at Vitas Hospice Care in Naples, Florida.
He was born in Louisville, KY on May 5, 1941.
He was a graduate of Manual High School and the University of Louisville. He was a well known Disk Jockey for WAVE 970 and WAVG 970 Radio. He was the emcee for the local WAVE TV show HIGH-Q for many years and loved working with the local high school students. After his retirement from radio and television, he joined his wife in their family business, Maid For You.
He was a licensed pilot for single engine airplanes. While at WAVE 970 Radio he flew on Eastern Airlines jets for three weeks in a station promotion to see if he could visit 101 cities in 21 consecutive days. He made it to 86 cities and set a world's record.
He belonged to the Swigert Middletown Lodge, Louisville Scottish Rite, the Kosair Shriners and the Bluegrass Miata Club.
Chuck received a new heart in 2003 and enjoyed spending his new life at his winter home on Marco Island, Florida and his summer home in Louisville. He had been in declining health since suffering a massive stroke in 2009.
He is preceded in death by his son Chad and his parents Boyd and Helen Casteel.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, the former Dorothy Sexton, three nieces, four nephews, two sisters in laws and three brothers in laws.
A special thanks to the nurses at Vitas Hospice care and dear friends Frank and Nancy Kapfhammer and Lou and Laura Kesten for their love and support during Chuck's illness.
