I used to hang out with Shelby Gene Wilkinson at WXVW. The best story about WXVW was the ghost.
The story goes that Mike Densford's brother really wanted to be a DJ, and as soon as he graduated from high school, he took and passed the FCC license test. One night, he got drunk and tried to beat the train that crossed Highway 62 over in Jeff. The train beat him and killed him.
About six months later, they finally took his radiotelephone license off the wall. That's when all the weird stuff started happening. Teletype paper would walk out of the trash can, phone lines out light up at night, and phones were found to be off the hook in a locked radio station.
I remember being with Shelby one evening in one of the prod rooms, and we heard loud footsteps coming from the sealed-off attic.
There were a lot of stories about the ghost from the people who worked over there.

I worked at WAVG from 96-02, with four and half of those years doing the morning show. After Blair quit the show, I used to have to go in at 445 to prep for the shift. One morning, I was turning the alarm off and there was a strong aroma of coffee. We had a traditional Bunn commerical unit, with NO timer whatsoever. I was very put-off by this because I believed I was the first person in the building after Douglas left the night before. After telling Katie Frank, she started to talk about the Densford legend and the morning with the coffee was NOT the only paranormal experience I had while in that bldg.
