I was M-F 8-Midnite & Sun 12Mid-4am and 8a-Noon jock at WINN summer of 59 - the fabulous Johnny Martin was our big star. He did Mon-Thurs Noon-4p & Sun Noon-4p & 8-Midnite. I'm trying to find out 1)when he left WINN 2)where he was between that time and Feb '63 when he started a 16 year career as nite guy at KRMG,Tulsa 3)when he left WLOU to start at WINN and 4)when he started at WLOU,Louisville's first black station (Johnny was of Oklahoma Indian descent, but spoke the black lingo of the day with the best of them.) He did the black shows Mon-Fri, but every Sunday he sold a ton of tv sets doing a Noon-6pm remote from SUN TV downtown on Broadway, playing Nat, Ella, Sinatra - the WINN playlist but on WLOU. He sounded as general market as any dj - only better. So far I know for sure he was at WLOU by 52, & supposedly gone from WINN before mid-61. Any info at all on JM would be much appreciated. Thanks. Actually that should have been 1951 that Johnny Martin went to WLOU. I also found another survey of WINN with Johnny Martin's name name on it. It was a survey he compiled for WINN and is dated 10/15/1955.
