Agreed!!! WQHI was the reason I turned to FM in the 70's. Wonderful to relive those memories again. To quote Floyd the barber, "you're a prince, (John), a real Prince!"

John, you've done it again, my friend. It's great to have access to the WLAP airchecks (since mine seem to have disappeared in my last move) and photos. Well done ... again! Dave
p.s. - The WAKY/WKLO connection: Rich Gimmel was doing nighttime news at WAKY in 68-69 when I was doing nighttime news at WKLO. When we made nightly phone calls to try and drum up news, we typically called each other -- I believe this is what is known as "friendly competition." Rich hired me at WLAP in 71.

Great site John! It's good to see the stations I enjoyed after the Waky and Wklo years.

Great stuff thus far...
I've especially enjoyed the WNNS switch to WAMZ aircheck...it captures all of the program elements I remember from the pre-Coyote era: The Drake Chenault jingles, Bob Kingsley, and the interesting selection of tunes.
So the answer to the trivia question "What was the first song played on WAMZ?" is "Where Do I Put Her Memory" by Charley Pride.
I look forward to the upcoming months. If this site grows like the WAKY and WKLO sites, it should really be something!
Happy New Year to one and all!

John:
Great sites..I'll send what I can find on WINN and WAVE ...soon. One correction: On the WAVE 970 photo page, the photo of Tom Wills and Norm West is actually Tom and Norm LEWIS. Thanks,
Young Daniel

What a great site, I looked through the Louisville radio stations, and looking forward to checking out Lexingtons stations.
